We are certified by the State of Maine as an environmental leader in hospitality.
We have recycling containers in the commons areas of each building as well as the pool areas.
We use salt pool systems in our indoor and outdoor pools to provide a healthier swimming environment. Chlorine generation through the salt system creates a strong, safe sanitizer which is a pure and effective form of pool purification. A Salt System helps eliminate caustic chloramines from the pool and helps reduce red eyes, itchy skin, bleached swimsuits, and that harsh chlorine smell.
Our washing machines are Ozone Laundry Systems. Ozone Laundry is a term used to describe the use of electricity and oxygen to replace many of the chemicals normally used in the traditional washing process. This combination produces ozone which is an effective oxidizer and can achieve high quality cleaning standards with only cold water, thus saving energy and lessening the use of detergents.
We change towels daily. Please hang up your towels if you feel inspired to join us in our sustainability mission and are willing to use them longer. If you would like new towels simply leave them on the floor or in the shower.
To conserve water, we change bed linens every third day, using only eco-friendly bio-degradable detergents. However, if you prefer service more often, just let us know.
